1. Introduction

Welcome to TV Remote Control ("App", "we", "our", or "us").

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the TV Remote Control Android application.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, please discontinue using the App.

TV Remote Control is an independently developed application that provides remote control functionality for compatible smart TVs.

2. App Functionality

TV Remote Control allows users to control compatible smart TVs through their Android devices.

Depending on the connected television, available features may include:

  • Directional navigation and selection
  • Volume adjustment and mute
  • Channel switching
  • Power control
  • Home, Back, and Menu functions
  • Media playback controls
  • Motion-based navigation
  • Pointer control for compatible LG webOS TVs
  • Voice Search
  • Keyboard input

Available features may vary depending on the TV manufacturer, model, operating system, firmware version, hardware capabilities, and connection method.

We do not guarantee that every feature will work on every television.

3. Supported Devices and Compatibility

The App is designed to support compatible:

  • Android TV and Google TV: Devices using supported V1 and V2 connection methods.
  • LG Smart TVs: Compatible televisions running webOS.
  • Samsung Smart TVs: Compatible televisions running Tizen OS.

Compatibility depends on the TV model, firmware, network configuration, supported protocols, and manufacturer restrictions.

TV manufacturers may modify or discontinue technologies, APIs, protocols, or features used by the App without our control.

As a result, certain functions may become unavailable or behave differently following firmware updates, operating system changes, or manufacturer restrictions.

We may provide compatibility improvements through App updates but do not guarantee indefinite compatibility with any television or operating system.

4. Free and Premium Features

The App provides basic remote control functionality free of charge.

Certain advanced features are available through a one-time lifetime premium purchase.

4.1 Premium Features

Premium features include:

  • Motion Remote: Navigate supported TVs using phone motion.
  • LG Pointer Control: Control the on-screen pointer on compatible LG webOS televisions.
  • TV Keyboard: Enter text on supported TVs using your phone's keyboard.
  • Voice Search: Search for content using supported voice recognition functionality.

4.2 Free Usage of Premium Features

Users may try each premium feature once for free, subject to device compatibility.

After the free use of a particular feature, continued access to that feature requires purchasing the lifetime premium upgrade.

Availability and functionality of individual premium features depend on the connected TV and its supported capabilities.

5. Lifetime Premium Purchase

The App offers a one-time lifetime premium purchase through Google Play Billing.

The purchase unlocks access to the premium features included in the purchased product, subject to device compatibility, technical availability, and these Terms.

5.1 Meaning of Lifetime Access

"Lifetime" refers to the supported operational lifetime of the App, not the lifetime of the purchaser or their device.

A lifetime purchase does not guarantee that the App, its features, or its compatibility with particular devices will remain available indefinitely.

The purchase does not include a contractual promise of perpetual development, maintenance, updates, technical support, or compatibility with future devices and operating systems.

There are no recurring subscription charges associated with the lifetime premium purchase.

We will not intentionally revoke a valid premium entitlement merely because the App is updated or unpublished.

5.2 Changes to Premium Features

Premium functionality may be modified, updated, or affected by technical requirements, security considerations, manufacturer changes, or third-party service availability.

We will make reasonable efforts to preserve purchased functionality where technically and commercially practicable.

If purchased functionality becomes permanently unavailable or is materially reduced, users may be entitled to remedies under applicable consumer protection laws.

5.3 Purchase Restoration

Premium purchases are associated with the Google Play account used to complete the purchase.

Users may restore eligible purchases using the same Google Play account, provided the App remains available and the purchase entitlement can be verified.

Purchases are not automatically transferable between different Google Play accounts.

5.4 Compatibility Verification Before Purchase

We strongly recommend that users connect the App to their television and verify its functionality before purchasing the lifetime premium upgrade.

Before purchasing, users should:

  • Confirm that the App successfully discovers and connects to their television.
  • Verify that basic remote controls, such as directional navigation and volume adjustment, work correctly.
  • Test the available one-time free use of each premium feature they intend to use, including Motion Remote, LG Pointer Control, TV Keyboard, and Voice Search, where supported.

Purchasing the premium upgrade unlocks access to premium functionality but does not extend device compatibility or guarantee that the App will work with an unsupported or incompatible television.

A successful TV connection or functioning basic remote controls do not necessarily guarantee that every premium feature is supported by the connected television.

Feature availability and performance depend on the TV manufacturer, model, operating system, firmware version, network environment, and supported connection methods.

We encourage users to verify compatibility before making a purchase. However, this recommendation does not exclude or limit any refund, warranty, or consumer protection rights available under applicable law or Google Play policies.

6. App Availability, Support, and Discontinuation

6.1 App Maintenance and Support

We may release updates to improve compatibility, introduce functionality, resolve bugs, enhance security, or address technical issues.

However, we do not guarantee that updates, technical support, or active development will continue indefinitely.

We may reduce or discontinue development, maintenance, or technical support for legitimate business, technical, security, operational, or legal reasons.

6.2 Unpublishing the App

We reserve the right to stop distributing the App to new users, including by unpublishing it from Google Play.

Unpublishing does not necessarily prevent existing users from continuing to use previously installed versions.

Where technically feasible, users with valid premium purchases may continue accessing their purchased features through existing installations, subject to operating system compatibility, third-party dependencies, and purchase verification requirements.

We will not intentionally disable valid purchased functionality solely because the App has been unpublished.

6.3 Permanent Discontinuation

We may permanently discontinue the App or particular features for legitimate reasons, including:

  • Changes in business operations or product strategy
  • Discontinuation of development or maintenance
  • Security or technical limitations
  • Changes in Android or television operating systems
  • Removal or modification of third-party APIs or connection protocols
  • Legal or regulatory requirements
  • Circumstances that make continued operation impracticable

Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of a planned discontinuation that materially affects existing users.

We will make reasonable efforts to minimize unnecessary disruption to existing premium users.

We cannot guarantee that previously installed versions will continue functioning indefinitely after active maintenance ends.

6.4 Premium Purchases Following Discontinuation

If the App or purchased premium functionality becomes permanently unavailable, affected users may contact us for assistance or to discuss available remedies.

Refunds or other remedies will be provided where required by applicable laws, Google Play policies, or other binding obligations.

Discontinuation does not automatically entitle every purchaser to a full refund, nor does this provision remove any statutory rights to refunds or other remedies.

Nothing in these Terms permits us to terminate purchased rights unlawfully or exclude consumer protections that cannot legally be waived.

7. Payments and Refunds

All in-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.

Purchase prices are displayed before payment and may vary by country, currency, applicable taxes, and Google Play settings.

We do not directly collect or store complete payment card information.

7.1 Refunds

Refund requests are subject to applicable Google Play policies and consumer protection laws.

Users may request refunds through Google Play or contact us regarding purchase-related problems.

Refund eligibility may depend on circumstances such as payment errors, purchase validity, product functionality, applicable legal rights, and the time of purchase.

If a purchase is refunded, cancelled, reversed, or otherwise invalidated, the associated premium entitlement may be removed.

7.2 Compatibility-Related Purchase Issues

Users are encouraged to verify TV connectivity and test available features before purchasing premium access.

Purchasing premium access does not guarantee compatibility with unsupported televisions or enable features that the connected TV does not support.

If a user experiences compatibility problems after purchasing, they may contact us for assistance.

Refund eligibility will be evaluated under applicable Google Play policies and consumer protection laws.

Failure to test the App before purchasing does not automatically eliminate a user's statutory refund or consumer protection rights.

8. Permissions and Network Access

The App may use device permissions and capabilities necessary for supported functionality, including:

  • Local network access for discovering and controlling compatible TVs
  • Microphone access through Android speech recognition functionality
  • Device motion sensors for motion-based navigation

Certain features may require the phone and TV to be connected to the same local network.

Users are responsible for maintaining suitable device and network configurations.

Denying necessary permissions or using incompatible devices may prevent certain features from functioning correctly.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App lawfully and responsibly.

You must not:

  • Control televisions or other devices without appropriate authorization.
  • Interfere with or intentionally damage devices, networks, or connected services.
  • Circumvent premium purchase verification or access restrictions.
  • Distribute unauthorized or modified copies of the App in violation of applicable law.
  • Use the App for fraudulent, unlawful, or malicious purposes.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have permission to control any device connected through the App.

10. Advertising and Third-Party Services

The App may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks and mediation services.

The App also uses third-party services for purposes such as:

  • Analytics and performance measurement
  • Crash reporting and diagnostics
  • Advertising and consent management
  • Google Play purchase processing
  • Android speech recognition

These services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

A premium purchase does not automatically remove advertisements unless ad removal is expressly included in the purchased product.

11. Independent Application Disclaimer

TV Remote Control is an independently developed application.

The App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or officially associated with Google, LG, Samsung, or their respective subsidiaries.

All third-party names, trademarks, logos, and product identifiers remain the property of their respective owners.

References to third-party brands are used solely to identify compatibility and supported products.

12. Intellectual Property

The App, including its original software, design, graphics, interface, and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to the developer.

These materials may be protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for lawful personal purposes in accordance with these Terms.

This license does not transfer ownership of the App or its intellectual property.

Your statutory rights and any rights granted by applicable open-source licenses remain unaffected.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

While we aim to provide reliable functionality, we do not guarantee:

  • Continuous or uninterrupted operation
  • Error-free performance
  • Compatibility with every television model or firmware version
  • Availability of all features on all devices
  • Continued operation following third-party software or protocol changes
  • Indefinite App availability, maintenance, or support
  • Continued functionality on devices that become incompatible following manufacturer or operating system updates

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App.

These may include losses caused by network interruptions, incompatible devices, third-party service failures, operating system changes, or technical limitations outside our reasonable control.

We are not responsible for changes made independently by television manufacturers or other third-party providers.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

These limitations do not affect mandatory consumer remedies related to purchases or services.

15. Privacy

We respect user privacy and provide a separate Privacy Policy explaining how information is accessed, collected, processed, stored, and shared.

By using the App, users acknowledge the applicable privacy information. Where legally required, we seek separate consent for specific data processing activities.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the App, business operations, legal requirements, or third-party services.

The effective date will be updated whenever material revisions are published.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide notice of significant changes or request additional acceptance.

Changes to these Terms will not retroactively remove statutory rights or unlawfully reduce existing purchased entitlements.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of India.

Nothing in these Terms prevents users from exercising mandatory consumer protection rights available under the laws applicable to them.

Disputes will be handled by the competent courts or authorities in accordance with applicable law.
